I am about 11-12 weeks pregnant and very impatient. I am so curious to meet my new little person, and I am definitely one of those people who wants to find out the sex of the baby as soon as possible.

Up until recently, that meant waiting until the 20 week ultrasound but now a test has been developed that predicts (with 90% accuracy) the gender of your baby. You can use it if you are between 10 and 34 weeks pregnant.

According to their website, IntelliGender’s Gender Prediction Test™ is an affordable, simple-to-use urine test that provides immediate gender results in the privacy and comfort of the home. In minutes, the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test indicates your gender result based upon an easy to read color match. Green indicates boy and orange indicates girl!  It was even discussed on the TV show, “The Doctors”- see video:

I received the box and was anxious to try it. I waited until morning time, peed in a cup (familiar to every pregnant woman), used the syringe to transfer a specific amount into the cup, swirled as directed, and waited. Simple as that!
My results show that I’m having a girl!

(Sorry the photos are fuzzy- it was early morning and obviously my brain wasn’t functioning yet.)

Of course, the makers of the IntelliGender’s Gender Prediction Test™ claim the test is just for fun and not to base any decisions on the results.

I found the test fairly easy, but I have to admit I was paranoid at doing it wrong. I’m not sure I “swirled” my pee with the crystals enough, but I think the results are accurate. This pregnancy feels exactly like my first, so I’m pretty confident I am, in fact, having another girl.

This test can be purchased from Intelligender’s website or from Target, CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens (among other places). The IntelliGender’s Gender Prediction Test™ retails for $34.95.

I think this test is a great tool for impatient women (like me) who won’t take the results too seriously.  It’s meant to be fun!

Guess I’ll know in about 8 weeks or so if theIntelliGender’s Gender Prediction Test™ was correct or not!
